Craft Day!

We can’t wait for MOPS this week . . . how about you? So, don’t miss our meeting this Friday, September 23rd @ 9:30 am. Here are some helpful tips to make your MOPS morning even more enjoyable.
  • Come as early as 9:15 am to drop off your children for MOPPETS. Make sure to mark all of your child’s belongings (i.e. diaper bag, bottles, pacifiers, etc.) Enter through the glass doors closest to our sanctuary on the side of the building.
  • Remember this week is the CLOTHING SWAP! We will ask those participating in the Swap to arrive at MOPS promptly at 9:15am on Sept 23rd. You will be allowed to shop while others are arriving, eating, and chatting. You are welcome to take home any items that you brought that no one needs, but if you would like you can also leave them at WBC and we will donate them to a local women's shelter. (If you would like to drop off your clothes on Thursday, you may do so between 10am-12pm-otherwise bring them Friday)
  • Don’t forget to bring your registration forms!! (If you come prepared your wait in line will be shorter too!)
  • Come hungry! Fellow MOPS moms are serving you breakfast . . . you don’t need to bring anything unless of course you signed up to do so!

We'll be making our own bag tags using Shrinky Dink paper and your imagination. Just cut, draw, color and bake. Instant, waterproof, kidproof tag! Here's a sneak peek:

MOPS registration is $50 – If you haven’t already registered, bring a check made out to Waxhaw Bible Church to start your MOPS membership and have your MOPS benefits on the way. New moms, you are welcome to join us 2-3 times before deciding to register for the year.
See you Friday, September 23rd at 9:15am!

Clothing Swap

This weekend is going to be a tad chilly, so maybe you were thinking about tackling the joyous task of switching out your kids' summer and winter clothes? Out with the old and in with the new, right? Then perhaps, in your great relief about finishing the job, you were going to drive over to the Goodwill truck and dump off those outgrown clothes so you would never have to look at them again.

DON'T DO IT!! MOPS is going to be having a clothes swap in just a few weeks. Details will follow, but you can bring those old clothes and pick up some "new" ones--ALL FOR FREE.

We'd love for you to save the gently used clothes for the swap.

Bring separate bins or laundry baskets with clothes sorted by size and gender. (Or by women's size including maternity) Be sure items are stain-free, tear-free, and multi-piece outfits are pined or well-attached. During the swap, we will allow you to choose outfits based on the honor system, as many as you need. Your selection does not need to be equal to what you brought, and we decided for ease not to worry with a ticket system. HOWEVER, please be observant of other moms shopping in the same bins that you are and do not take an unreasonable share. We are doing this to help each other out, so be gracious to one another. Remember, we are all in the same boat. Perhaps if you see three other moms are selecting from the same size/gender bins, take turns each selecting item one item. Especially with shoes, do not take more than one pair until everyone has had a turn. If you need to shop from multiple sizes, go first to the sizes you are most in need of. Obviously, we want ALL the clothes to be swapped, but any remaining will be given to a women's shelter.
