Ingredients:
• Your favorite flavor cake mix
• 1 container ready-made frosting
• 2 bags of Nestle chocolate chips (any kind made with cocoa butter.)
• 1/2 tsp vegetable or canola oil
• Candy sprinkles
Bake the cake according to package directions. Cool and crumble the
baked cake into a big bowl.
Add a container of ready-made frosting.
Mix well until a sticky batter forms.
Refrigerate until the mixture is stiff enough to roll into balls.
Roll the cake mixture into teaspoon-sized balls and freeze.
About an hour or so later (or whenever you get around to it) melt
chocolate in a microwavable bowl, 20 seconds at a time, then 10 seconds
as it starts to melt. Add the little bit of vegetable oil to keep a silky smooth
consistency. Dip each ball into the chocolate and place on wax paper.
Optional: add some sprinkles at this point before chocolate hardens.
Freeze the coated cake balls to set. They are great frozen or serve at room
temperature. These are great to make ahead for a party and freeze.
